Gender pay gap rules in detail
Employers with over 50 employees are required to report salary details (including gender) to the Central Statistical Office on a regular basis for general statistical purposes. The Central Statistical Office does not specifically focus on gender pay differences but may draw conclusions about the gender pay gap from the data it receives.
Smaller companies (employing between five and 50 employees) do not have an automatic obligation to file this report with the Central Statistical Office. However, it may compel them to fill in and submit a report on an ad-hoc basis.
There are no civil or criminal sanctions in relation to this.
