Gender pay gap rules in detail

There is no specific reporting obligation in relation to gender pay differences.

However, employees are entitled to defend their right via courts and state labour inspectorates. If the state labour inspectorate receives an application from an employee, it may do an internal audit of pay conditions. In addition, there is an internal HR document, called the ‘staff schedule’, which must contain information about all jobs in the company, along with their salaries. The basic rule is that salary for the equal work should be equal. If the company does not comply with the rule, the authorities may hold the company administratively liable.
