Gender pay gap rules in detail
There is no specific reporting obligation in relation to gender pay differences.
However, employees are entitled to defend their right to equal pay through the courts and state labour inspectorates. If the state labour inspectorate receives a complaint from an employee, it may perform an internal audit of pay conditions. In addition, there is a mandatory internal HR document called the ‘staff schedule’ which must contain information about all jobs in the company, along with their salaries. The basic rule is that salary for equivalent work should be equal. If the company does not comply with the rule, the authorities may hold the company administratively liable.
