Gender pay gap rules in detail
There is no external reporting obligation in relation to gender pay differences, but there is an obligation to investigate and analyse gender pay differences within companies. The survey must be in written form if the employer has over ten employees.
If the employer does not document the survey or is not taking active measures to counter discrimination, the Equality Ombudsman may initiate a trial. If the employer does not correct the omission, this could lead to a penalty.
