Selection order for dismissals and layoffs in detail

Before reaching a decision on a dismissal for economic, technological or organisational reasons, an employer that employs 20 or more people must take into account the following social criteria:

  • the length of the employment relationship;
  • the employee’s age; and
  • his or her maintenance obligations towards dependants.
