National minimum wage in detail

The Minimum Wage Ordinance (Cap. 608) establishes a statutory minimum wage (‘SMW’) in Hong Kong. The SMW came into effect on 1 May 2011. The current SMW is HKD 34.50 (EUR 3.83) per hour effective from 1 May 2017 and will increase to HKD 37.50 (EUR 4.17) on 1 May 2019, Hong Kong’s Labour Day.
