National minimum wage in detail

Since 1 January 2018 the national minimum wage is EUR 430 per month for full-time work (i.e. 40 hours per week). The minimum wage per hour is no longer set as a specific amount but depends on the normal hours worked during the month. Assuming there are 22 working days in a month, the hourly rate would be EUR 2.44. The minimum wage is usually revised annually by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Latvia. There is no gradation of the wage depending on the type of job. Due to the fact that teenagers have a shorter daily working time, the minimum hourly rate is higher for them.
